Chester C. and Donna M Fincham

Chester and Donna Fincham(Lord) were married on December 11th, 1955.  The Fincham family lived north of Frankfort, near Winifred where they raised their family.  Chester worked for the Union Pacific Railroad until his retirement in 1992 and Donna spent many years working at Peckham Pharmacy in Frankfort.  

Chester and Donna were graduates of Frankfort High School and active in the community.  Donna was a longtime member of the Beta Epsiolon, Seekers, Red Hats and the Frankfort Rotary Cooking team.  She was also a member of the Frankfort American Legion Auxiliary and the Frankfort United Methodist Church.  Chester was a member of the Frankfort Post 181 American Legion, Frankfort VFW, Frankfort City Cemetery and Frankfort United Methodist Church.  He was also a long time member of the Frankfort Oddfellows.  

Donna, 86, passed away September 15, 2018 in Bryan West Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska.  She was born September 3, 1932 near Frankfort to Samuel Wallace and Alta Nina (Delinger) Lord. She loved spending time with her family and Christmas was a special time for her.  She will be remembered as a loving, gracious and humorous woman who loved her family and friends and was known as a wonderful cook and baker.  

Chester, 90 passed away August 13, 2019 at the Frankfort Community Care Home.  He was born March 16, 1929, three miles north of Winifred to Clayton William and Pearl Thompson Fincham.  After high school Chester worked at Western Electric in Kansas City.  He was hired by Union Pacific Railroad as a fireman in August 1950.  In 1951, Chester was drafted into the Army, he was shipped to Japan for eight months.  On July 2nd, 1952, Chester was called for duty for the 40th Infantry Division located on Heartbreak Ridge for nine months.  Home from the Korean Conflict in 1953 Chester returned to work on the U.P.R.R. as a fireman.  He advanced to a hostler and then to an engineer.  Chester also enjoed his small farming and cattle operation.  

Survivors include his daughter, Linda, Frankfort: son Chet (Mary Ann), Frankfort; grandsons Travis (Jami), Anthony(Michelle), Westmoreland, three great grandchildren, Annistyn, Henry and Holland Fincham; sister, Edith (Herschel) Mentgen, Frankfort; and many nieces and nephews.  

Preceeding the Finchams in death were their daughter, Donna Mae, parents, Chester's four brothers and one sister and Donna's four brothers.  The couple is buried in the Frankfort City Cemetery.
